The Courtyard is finished!
This is a pretty big deal, here’s the process that’s led to today!
This is what the courtyard looked like for a long time, a half court with grass on one side. This served our students well, but our staff and board of directors decided it was time to upgrade.
After the grass had been removed and concrete had been poured, we used temporary goals while we finalized the details in order to complete the court in the way we had originally intended.
This is a photo of the permanent goals being installed. We also had a few minor updates done to the court: New seating behind the far goal, and new water-draining concrete slabs all the way around.
After the goals were installed, work began to put the final touches on the court. If you look where the brick meets the roof, you can see the brand new LED lights we installed for night play.
This is the surface of the court before it was painted.
This is the final product! The crew we hired did a phenomenal job, the court turned out better than we could have hoped for, and thanks to the new LED lights, students are able to play at night! Special thanks to Michael Wood from Clear Creek Christian Church for providing a lift so these lights could get installed!
The best part though, has been watching students use it! After the first Encounter this year, we had over 60 students playing basketball, hanging out, and enjoying fellowship together.
